Warriors encourage fans to take public transportation to Game 5

With an Athletics home game earlier in the day, things are going to get crowded in Oakland.

The Golden State Warriors are encouraging fans who are attending Wednesday’s Game 5 against the Los Angeles Clippers to take public transportation, and to plan on arriving at the game early.

Golden State took to social media on Tuesday to encourage this action, citing the fact that the Oakland Athletics - who share a parking lot with the Warriors - are also playing a Wednesday game.

The games are well spread apart, as the A’s begin at 12:45, and the Warriors don’t tip off until 7:30. But even so, that results in a fair share of overlap between A’s fans leaving the game, and Warriors fans showing up. And if the A’s game happens to go into extra innings, things could get extremely congested.

Furthermore, as the Warriors game is obviously a crucial contest, it is expected that the parking lots will fill up quickly.

So if you’re fortunate enough to be attending the game, take public transportation if you can, and leave as early as you’re able to.
