Utah put up a big fight on the road, and led in the fourth quarter. But a 4-22 shooting night from Donovan Mitchell played a big role, and the Jazz simply couldn’t get a bucket late, ultimately falling 100-93, to lose the series four games to one.
With the win, Houston sets themselves up for a rematch against the Golden State Warriors. Assuming the Warriors win their series against the Los Angeles Clippers, the teams will meet for the second consecutive year, and for the fourth time in the last five postseasons.
If Golden State wins Game 5 against the Clippers tonight, then their second round series with the Rockets will begin over the weekend. If the Warriors need a Game 6 or 7 to close things out, then the series will start next week.
Utah may have lost, but they certainly showed some interesting and promising defensive tactics against reigning MVP James Harden, and it’s safe to say the Warriors will have paid attention to what worked.
