Minutes before the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Clippers tipped off for Game 5 of their first round playoff series, the Houston Rockets beat the Utah Jazz to advance to the second round.
This news didn’t evade the Warriors, who will face the Rockets if they can first get past the Clippers.
According to Lou Williams, who was nothing short of spectacular in Game 5, that played a role in the Clippers’ 129-121 victory.

“Our focus was to extend the series, to get another game on our home floor,” Williams explained after the game. “It’s their mistake for looking ahead. So that’s on them.”
According to ESPN, Klay Thompson - who had a mediocre night - took some responsibility for that mindset.
“Yep, start with me. I was,” Thompson responded, when asked about looking ahead. “I thought we were going to come out and win tonight, but sometimes life doesn’t go as planned. . . They’ve been tough, but now it’s time to do what we do.”
Game 6 between the Clippers and Warriors is at 7:00 p.m. PT on Friday, on ESPN, from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
