Podcast: The curious rivalry between Warriors and Rockets rages on

The Rockets come to Oakland desperate for vengeance after a year of nightmares following their failed 2018 Western Conference Finals campaign against the back-to-back champs

NBA: Golden State Warriors at Houston Rockets Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

The Golden State Warriors took care of business on Friday against the L.A. Clippers, winning an elimination Game 6 on the road. They’re rewarded with a quick turnaround Game 1 on Sunday at home in Oakland against the hungry Houston Rockets.

With all of this drama hanging in the air, it was only right that GSoM’s resident recappers Dr. Thomas Bevilacqua (@THBevilacqua) and myself (not really a Twitterer?) team up to break down the juicy intrigue. We’ve been writing recaps all year waiting for this series to jump off.

Check out how Dr. Tom and the Gold Blooded King gleefully anticipate the heavyweight showdown going down between the Western Conference’s most recent #1 seeds.

We discussed the injuries to the Splash Bros and DeMarcus Cousins, the Warriors-Rockets playoff history (and all Houston’s excuses), and gratitude for how far the Dubs have come from “Chris Mullin Buzz Cut night: Family 4-Pack” nights.

Also, Dr. Tom weighs in thoughtfully on the Kevin Durant’s dominant performances juxtaposed to the “KD Haters on Twitter” phenomenon that is sweeping NBA social media.

Check out our first episode, we hope you have as much fun listening as we did making it (shout out to #Hennessy for fueling it all).
