Non-Warriors playoffs tonight feature Game 1 of the other side of the western bracket

Blazers and Nuggets kick off their playoff series, while Toronto will try to throttle Sixers into a 0-2 deficit

NBA: Playoffs-Oklahoma City Thunder at Portland Trail Blazers
Another fine Oakland product

While the Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets are at home prepping for a big game two tomorrow, life in the NBA moves on. Tonight’s slate of games features a couple of interesting matchups - including the start of a series that will decide who advances to the Western Conference Finals.

Game 1 - EAST SEMIFINALS - on TNT at 5pm

Toronto Raptors lead 1-0 over the Philadelphia 76ers

The Sixers looked pretty thoroughly outclassed in the opening game, but these are long series for a reason. Kawhi Leonard and Marc Gasol have arrived to expel whatever playoff ghosts have been haunting the team from Canada. So far so good, as they looked like the eminently superior team while cruising to a fairly easy game one victory.

Joel Embiid is nursing a sore knee that doesn’t figure to get better any time soon, and it doesn’t look like anyone is anywhere near as good as Leonard.

Game 2 - WEST SEMIFINALS - on TNT at 7:30pm

Portland Trail Blazers vs. Denver Nuggets

This one is a series that I have absolutely no certainty about. Will the Nuggets be able to hold off the dangerous Blazers? Or is this the year Dame Lillard finally manages to pull his team deep into the playoffs.

No matter how it shakes out, this figures to be an exciting matchup.
