The Golden State Warriors season is over. They lost in Game 6 to the Toronto Raptors, and, in turn, lost the NBA Finals four games to two.
In the end, the injuries to Kevin Durant - who played only 12 minutes in the series - and Klay Thompson - who left in the third quarter - were too much to sustain. But no excuses. The Warriors have had the benefit of injuries, and the detriment, and this time they couldn’t overcome the obstacles.
We’ll have recaps and analysis up shortly, but in the meantime, let this serve as the thread to mourn a wonderful season and a difficult game.
Congratulations to the Raptors, who had a tremendous season from start to finish to win the first championship in their franchise history. It is incredibly well deserved.
And congratulations to the Warriors, who faced so many struggles but still came so, so close.
