The Golden State Warriors certainly know what the euphoria of a championship feels like. They’ve been fortunate enough to experience that joy three times in the last five years.
So they know what the Raptors felt like today, as they paraded through Toronto, celebrating the franchise’s first title in their 23-year history.
To celebrate the Raptors’ great achievement, the Warriors took out a full-page ad in the Toronto Star, the country’s highest-circulation newspaper. The ad congratulated the city and organization on the 2019 title.

The ad features a picture of Steph Curry hugging Kyle Lowry in the aftermath of Thursday’s decisive Game 6.
“The Golden State Warriors congratulate the Toronto Raptors on their historic achievement and bringing the 2019 NBA championship to the city of Toronto,” the spread reads.
It was a classy move by the Warriors, but one thing was clear from the start of the series: Both organizations greatly respect each other, from the players, to the coaches, to the executives.
Congratulations, Raptors, and Toronto fans. Enjoy it!
