Klay Thompson has yet to undergo surgery for the torn ACL that he suffered in Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals.
Golden State Warriors General Manager Bob Myers met with the media on Wednesday, ahead of Thursday’s NBA Draft. While Myers primarily discussed the draft, he did field a question about the injuries to Thompson and Kevin Durant, who ruptured his Achilles tendon in Game 5 of the Finals.
Myers didn’t have any updates, other than to note that Thompson has yet to undergo surgery.
Warriors GM Bob Myers said he had no update on Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson. Says Thompson hasn’t had surgery on his ACL yet.

It’s unclear when Thompson will have the required surgery. There’s obviously a medical reason for why he hasn’t undergone the surgery yet, even if Myers didn’t elaborate.
With the season over, Thompson is a free agent for the firs time in his career. However, he has long held the public stance that he has no desire to leave the Warriors, something his father, former NBA player Mychal Thompson confirmed at the end of the season.
Despite the injury, which will likely keep the five-time All-Star out until at least February, the Warriors are expected to still offer Klay a maximum contract.
