The Golden State Warriors daunting plan to keep it’s magnificent dynasty intact has started off swimmingly, as reported by Shams Charania. Klay Thompson’s coming back for the long haul, folks!
The Warriors always planned to give Thompson the type of contract he wanted and the franchise made this a priority entering June 30 free agency. Splash Brothers stay in the Bay. https://t.co/aJ6urPpIZJ

Yesss, wonderful news indeed. The league had been salivating over prying Thompson away from the Warriors, with the Los Angeles Lakers and/or Clippers being the most rumored suitors. SIKE! The only way he’ll be in L.A. is to hang out with family and friends while he’s starring in “Space Jam 2: LeBron’s Dream Team” or whatever the heck that movie is called.
Thompson is going to be rehabbing his damaged left ACL well into next season, but at least Warriors fans can hold onto hope that he can return for a playoff push in 2020. The last time we saw Thompson he was miraculously walking on his torn knee to make huge free throws in Oracle Arena. The next time we see him we’ll probably be in the brand spankin’ new Chase Center, where one day there will be a statue of the younger Splash Day outside.
