In case you missed the news, Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors agreed to a maximum contract extension, which will begin for the 2020-21 season, and run through 2024. It features a trade kicker and a team option, and will presumably keep Green on the team through his age-34 season.
To break it down, here’s another episode of Wake Up With the Warriors, discussing the extension. It’s a fairly short episode - less than 15 minutes long. I just wanted to cover the details and minutiae of the contract, explain why Green likely took the deal and what he left on the table, and discuss what it means for the Warriors going ahead.
