The hobbling Golden State Warriors greet the dangerous Milwaukee Bucks tonight in the visiting team’s first visit to Chase Center. For Milwaukee, it’s another opportunity to polish their stellar record (32-6!) on the way to the playoffs. They are the #1 seed in the East, and are powered by the reigning MVP, Giannis Antetokounmpo.
The 6-foot-11, 242 pound monster is averaging 30.2 points per game, along with 12.8 rebounds, and 5.6 assists....aka dominating the league again. He’s a larger than life superstar with a big smile, that MVP hardware, and a contract decision that is starting to loom over his head.
He’s eligible to become a free agent in 2021 if he doesn’t resign with the Bucks, and if the Bucks don’t win the title this season, he may be quite interested in following another MVP forward who left the team that drafted him for greener pastures.
Cough, Kevin Durant, cough cough.
So Warriors fans, even if Giannis lights these limping Dubs up tonight, think of it as him potentially showcasing his skills for his future teammates.
This will be the Warriors first game without recently waived Marquese Chriss; how will the team respond to the emotion of the well-liked player’s untimely departure? Maybe Golden State rookie Eric Paschall decides that the future is now and goes off tonight to shock Milwaukee.
Either way, there should be some good basketball played tonight in San Francisco.
Bucks!
Warriors!
Next!
