James Wiseman is the newest member of the Golden State Warriors, and it didn’t take long for his new teammates to welcome him to the Bay Area. Wiseman comes with some high pedigree — he was far and away the top prospect in his class coming out of high school, but slipped a little after only playing three college games for Memphis.
But because he was a highly-touted prospect, the Warriors players are pretty familiar with him. The face of the franchise, Steph Curry, posted a picture of the two at Curry’s basketball camp in 2018. It doesn’t seem to be lost on Curry that Wiseman — who was 17 years old at the time, compared to 30 for Curry — absolutely dwarfs the two-time MVP.
Draymond Green also found a Warriors connection, tweeting out a picture of Wiseman rocking a We Believe-era practice jersey as a kid.

And last year’s star rookie, Eric Paschall, also took to social media to give a warm welcome to his new teammate.

We’re still a long ways away from seeing if Wiseman was the right selection. But his new teammates sure seem to like him, and that goes a long ways.
