The Golden State Warriors season is about to get started, and they’ll officially begin things without All-Star and Defensive Player of the Year Draymond Green. At Monday’s media availability, coach Steve Kerr officially ruled Green out of Tuesday’s opener against the Brooklyn Nets.
This is not surprising. Green missed all three preseason games after testing positive for the coronavirus, and was unable to participate in Saturday’s final scrimmage due to soreness in his foot. An MRI came back clean, but the soreness will keep Green out of the opener, and potentially Friday’s holiday showdown against the Milwaukee Bucks as well.
Rookie James Wiseman — who also missed the preseason games due to the coronavirus — will play. Or at least, he’s cleared to play, should Kerr decide to use him.
Draymond Green (foot) won't play tomorrow in Brooklyn. James Wiseman (coronavirus) will be ready to go.

The loss of Green is a huge hit to the Warriors, especially since he would have been matched up on Kevin Durant. Hopefully he isn’t on the sidelines for long.
