Ky Bowman’s rookie season was not what the Golden State Warriors envisioned. They didn’t expect the two-way contract to end up playing 45 games or starting 12 of them. They didn’t anticipate him playing a big role in the wake of a Steph Curry injury, and later a D’Angelo Russell trade.
But it’s exactly what happened.
There were some highs in Bowman’s rookie year, and some lows, and plenty of surprises. And it ended with him earning a multi-year contract with the Dubs, though with barely any money guaranteed.
I broke it down for the latest episode of my Warriors player review podcast series, where I spend 10-15 minutes reviewing the season of a Warriors player, since this year feels like it happened a few decades ago. With the Warriors being eliminated, it’s as good a time as any to try and remember a forgettable year.
