Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NBA. Each week, we send out questions to the most plugged-in Golden State Warriors fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to join Reacts.
The latest and greatest NBA season couldn’t have started much better for the Golden State Warriors, who fought their way to a very nice win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Opening Night, despite being on the road, facing the favorites in the Western Conference, and having a rare brutal shooting performance from Steph Curry.
It showed what the team is capable of, and certainly gave you reason to dream about what things will look like when Klay Thompson returns from his Achilles injury in a few months.
You’re not alone in your optimism. According to the latest SB Nation Reacts poll, NBA fans give the Warriors the fourth-best odds of winning the Western Conference, with 11% of polled fans thinking the Dubs make it six NBA Finals appearances in eight years. That mark earned them a tie with the Denver Nuggets.

There’s also some optimism that Curry can repeat his brilliant 2020-21 season, and convert it into his third MVP trophy. Curry finished third a year ago (behind Nikola Jokić and Joel Embiid), and polled NBA fans give him the fourth-best odds this year at 11%, trailing only Luka Dončić, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Kevin Durant.

Seeing Curry become the ninth player in NBA history with three MVP awards would be extremely special, but I think the fans — and Curry himself — would be happier if the Warriors hit on the team odds rather than the individual odds, and return to the Finals.
