The Warriors are looking to continue their win streak after beating the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday night with a score of 106-98. On the other hand, Memphis will be playing their second night of a back-to-back after losing against the Portland Trail Blazers last night with a score of 96-116.
This game comes with a revenge narrative to it, as the last time these two teams faced off was the play-in game on May 21, 2021. Unfortunately for Golden State, they lost that game to Memphis, 112-117.
However, this game should be different. The Warriors have started the season undefeated—even winning the ugly games that they were doomed to lose last year. The offense looks much more crisp and not as reliant on Stephen Curry to win them games with herculean high-scoring outputs. This is important because one of the defining plays of that play-in game was when Steph got doubled-teamed with the game tied and the Warriors failed to score a basket. Although Memphis still has Ja Morant and a healthy Jaren Jackson Jr. this time around, they will come into this game knowing that this is a different Warriors squad than the one they beat last May.
It should be a fun game. Enjoy the basketball Dub Nation. GO WARRIORS!!!
