Who: Golden State Warriors vs Los Angeles Lakers
When: Friday, October 8th, 2021 @ 7PM PT
How to Watch: NBC Sports Bay Area
How to Listen: 95.7 The Game
Injuries:
Warriors: Klay Thompson (out, Achilles), James Wiseman (out, knee), Gary Payton II (out, hernia).
Lakers: Trevor Ariza (out, ankle)
The last time the Warriors met the Lakers, it was for a shot at the 7th seed in the play-in tournament. It was a barnburner that went down to the wire with LeBron James sealing the deal with a show-stopping three-pointer over Stephen Curry that effectively doomed the Dubs.
But I’ll remember it for the fearless performance Jordan Poole put up, including trying to hammer a jam down on King James and taking gusty shots down the stretch.

Not a day goes by that I don’t wish Jordan Poole dunked on Lebron

We’re seeing Poole’s game get even deeper this preseason, as he’s leading the Dubs in scoring at 23.5 PPG and showing that his confidence in that play-in defeat was only the beginning of good things to come.
Meanwhile the Los Angeles Lakers have rehauled their team around James and Anthony Davis, adding Russell Westbrook, Carmelo Anthony, Rajon Rondo, Dwight Howard, and DeAndre Jordan. That’s a lotta All-Star appearances and commercials between that bunch, and even if they are getting up there in age, they are still the de facto favorites in the Western Conference.
This team won an NBA title as recently as 2020, but they’re 0-2 in the preseason right now. Can the Warriors make 0-3?
