Preview: Rockets hit second game of B2B against Warriors

The Dubs need not give Houston any hope.

Can you believe the Houston Rockets and Golden State Warriors were once in the hottest rivalry in the Western Conference? Well, perhaps rivalry isn’t the best word, as the Warriors merely eliminated the Rockets four times in five years from the postseason. Whatever the relationship is between and hammer and a nail is probably more appropriate.

But that doesn’t negate the fact that the Rockets pushed the Warriors to their golden limit and brought the best out of the Bay’s team. Since then, Golden State has suffered major roster turnover and injuries, but are bouncing back this season with a 7-1 start. On the other hand, the Rockets have also suffered roster turnover and injuries, but are getting bounced around this season with a 1-7 start.

Saturday night they took a painful one-point loss on the road to the Denver Nuggets.

As a reward they get to fly in to San Francisco for the second night of a back-to-back against a Warriors team that just put a 41-point beatdown on the New Orleans Pelicans. This game will feature Jalen Green, the #2 pick of the 2021 draft. It still cracks me up that the Warriors came away with #7 and #14 in the same draft while retaining the Splash Bros and Draymond Green. Meanwhile the Rockets came out of the lottery with no James Harden, Chris Paul, or Russell Westbrook to speak of. TOUGH.
