Steph Curry has spent the first 20 games of the 2020-21 NBA season reminding everyone just how good he is, and giving Golden State Warriors fans a lot of optimism for the upcoming years.

And along the way, he also reminded us all of just how popular he is.

That’s now on full display, as Curry was nominated in the category of “Favorite Male Sports Star” at the 2021 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards. That Curry was chosen for the award is a testament to his popularity, given that he only played five total games in all of 2020.

Curry has some stiff competition in the group, as the other five nominees are fellow NBA superstar LeBron James, NFL quarterback Russell Wilson, the Super Bowl’s dueling stars Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes, and soccer legend Lionel Messi.

The six nominees for Favorite Female Sports Star are WNBA star Candace Parker, tennis superstars Naomi Osaka and Serena Williams, soccer legends Megan Rapinoe and Alex Morgan, and gymnast sensation Simone Biles.

Good luck to Curry, but the best part of the award show won’t be him. It will be that Kenan Thompson is returning to the place where it all started.

The Saturday Night Live cast member began his TV career at Nickelodeon, starring in All That and Kenan & Kel.

The Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards 2021 airs live on Saturday, March 13, at 7:30 p.m. PT. Click here to vote for Curry — and whoever else you want to see slimed.
