The Golden State Warriors will be shorthanded as they take on the Memphis Grizzlies tonight, but they won’t be quite as shorthanded as we feared.
Yesterday the team announced that both Steph Curry (tailbone) and Kelly Oubre Jr. (foot) were doubtful for Friday night’s game. Playing without your starting backcourt is never fun, especially since two key members of the bench — James Wiseman and Eric Paschall — are away from the team due to contact tracing.
But the news got a little bit better. At his pre-game media availability, Kerr announced that Oubre would be playing. Curry, however, remains out.
Kelly Oubre will start tonight. Steph Curry will sit out tonight. "We'll continue to call him day to day," Kerr said.

While Curry is listed as day to day, Kerr said that the superstar is quite sore, and is unlikely to play in Saturday night’s game, also against the Grizzlies.
Starting in his place will be Jordan Poole, who has been lights out since returning from the G League bubble.
Jordan Poole will start at PG tonight. Rest of starting lineup will stay the same.

Poole is averaging 19.0 points per game in just 22.5 minutes a night in his five games since returning to the team, and has been extremely efficient as well. While it’s no good to have Curry sidelined, this will be a fun test for the Dubs’ second-year combo guard.
