The Golden State Warriors will be missing their two best players as they take on the Sacramento Kings on Thursday night. In his pregame media availability, coach Steve Kerr announced that Draymond Green will miss the game due to illness. Mychal Mulder is questionable, also due to illness.

Kerr also revealed that “about 12” members of the Warriors — players and staff — were vaccinated on Wednesday at the Kaiser near Chase Center, with the Johnson & Johnson single-dose vaccine. While Kerr didn’t know if vaccine side effects were the cause of either player’s illness, he confirmed that both players were among the group that was vaccinated. So it seems decently likely that Green and Mulder are suffering from some post-vaccine side effects. Kerr added that Green woke up not feeling well, and skipped shootaround.
Regardless, the Warriors will be shorthanded without their two best players: Green, and Steph Curry, who will miss his fourth straight game due to tailbone inflammation. They’ll also be without backup point guard Brad Wanamaker, who was traded earlier in the day to the Charlotte Hornets for cash.
