Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NBA. Each week, we send out questions to the most plugged in Golden State Warriors fans, and fans across the country. Sign up here to join Reacts.
Despite what some fans and media members want you to believe, there’s a healthy amount of mutual respect, admiration, and even friendship between Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry and Los Angeles Lakers great LeBron James. Sure, they matched up in four straight NBA Finals, and sure, thinks got a little testy from time to time.
But both players go out of their way to praise the other, both on social media and in interviews, and they seemed to relish the opportunity to play together in the All-Star Game.
That will all get put aside tonight as the two teams face off in the play-in tournament. The winner will automatically book a spot in the playoffs, while the loser will have to play again on Friday in a win or go home contest.
According to the latest SB Nation Reacts survey, NBA fans think the Warriors and Lakers will be the two teams that advance to the first round. Somewhat surprisingly, more fans picked the Warriors (81%) than the Lakers (80%) to make it out of the play-in tourney.

There can be no denying that Curry and James are two of the best players alive right now. Many people — myself included — would put them as the top two players alive.
Yet in another slightly surprising twist, fans trust Curry more than James in an elimination game, with 72% picking Steph.

Let’s hope those fans are smart. We’re about to find out.
