Hello lovely Golden State Warriors fans.
By now you know the drill with watching Warriors games on Golden State of Mind. We put up a gamethread, you comment as the Warriors make horrendous mistake after horrendous mistake action unfolds, and we all have a merry time.
We’re gonna switch it up on Tuesday, for the Dubs’ game against the New Orleans Pelicans. Instead of a game thread, we’re going to test run a live chat feature.
This is, for now, a one-time thing that we’re just doing a test run of. We’ve tried it on a few other sites as well, so if you’re a commenter on, say, McCovey Chronicles, you might have seen it already.
It works similarly to any live chat feature, like the one on YouTube. Comments will show up chronologically, and autoload. You won’t need to make a new account, though you may have to verify your email.
It’s been fun at other sites, so hopefully you come check it out and enjoy it. We’ll be back to our regularly scheduled gamethreads after that.
A few more notes on it:
- We obviously want feedback so we can make it the best possible product. I’ll occasionally drop a survey into the live chat that you can fill out with your feedback, or you can always email me any direct commentst you have.
- There is still comment threading. However, if you respond to someone it will also show up in the main chat as the most recent comment. That being said, think of it like a Twitch- or Slack-style live chat. It isn’t a comment section!
- The chat is embedded in the article, rather than below the article like a comment section, so be sure to just look in the article for your place to comment. Don’t want you getting lost.
I think that’s it folks. Hopefully see you in the chat on Tuesday, at 5:00 p.m. PT.
Go Dubs!
