The Dubs will also face the Phoenix Suns on Christmas.

The 2021-22 NBA schedule will be released shortly, but we already know that the Golden State Warriors will be playing in some of the biggest and brightest situations.

On Tuesday, the league announced the schedule for Opening Night and for Christmas, and the Warriors are featured on both days.

A new season gets started on Tuesday, Oct. 19 — hey, that’s barely two months away — with a dynamic duet of games: first it’s the Brooklyn Nets visiting the reigning champion Milwaukee Bucks, and then it’s the Dubs headed to SoCal to take on the Los Angeles Lakers.

Yep, it’s Steph Curry vs. LeBron James on Opening Night. It’s Draymond Green vs. Anthony Davis. It’s Russell Westbrook’s Lakers debut and Andre Iguodala’s Warriors return, and it should be all kinds of fun.

The NBA is going hard on opening week this year, with a pair of televised games every night from Tuesday through Friday. The Warriors are featured twice: once on Opening Night, and again two days later when they host the Los Angeles Clippers. Both games will be on TNT, at 7:00 p.m. PT.

Filling out the rest of the opening week schedule are two Wednesday, Oct. 20 games pairing the Boston Celtics against the New York Knicks, and the Denver Nuggets against the Phoenix Suns; a Thursday, Oct. 21 game between the Dallas Mavericks and Atlanta Hawks (prior to the Warriors-Clippers game); and a doubleheader on Friday, Oct. 22, starting with the Nets vs. the Philadelphia 76ers, and concluding with the Suns vs. the Lakers.

On Christmas, the Dubs will visit the defending Western Conference champion Suns for a 2:00 p.m. PT showdown on ABC. Curry vs. Chris Paul is always good theater and, if Klay Thompson is healthy by then, we’ll get to see him against Devin Booker. Good stuff all around.

The rest of the Dec. 25 schedule is the Hawks at the Knicks (9:00 a.m.), the Celtics at the Bucks (11:30 a.m.), the Nets at the Lakers (5:00 p.m.), and the Mavericks at the Utah Jazz (7:30 p.m.).

Warriors games! So close I can almost taste them.
