The Golden State Warriors kick off the Christmas slate with today’s matchup against the Denver Nuggets. The game will begin at 11:30am PT in Denver and can be watched on ABC.
Previously with the Warriors:
Golden State successfully handled their business during Saturday’s second night of a back-to-back by beating the Portland Trail Blazers, 126-106. It was another solid win as six of their players scored in the double digits. Klay Thompson led the way with 28 points, while his fellow Splash Brother Stephen Curry trailed right behind him with 27 points.

What to watch for tonight:
The Warriors’ five game winning streak will face its toughest challenge yet as the team takes on the reigning league champions. Golden State is 0-1 against Denver this season, losing their only matchup thus far by a score of 108-105.
The biggest threat on the Nuggets remains their superstar center Nikola Jokic. The two-time MVP and last year’s Finals MVP continues his dominance over the league by averaging a near triple-double with 26.4 points, 12.3 rebounds, and 9.2 assists per game this season.
While the Warriors have improved on both ends of the floor during this winning streak, stopping this Nuggets team will be a different challenge. Denver’s high-powered scoring options put immense pressure on opposing teams to not only slow them down defensively but keep up with them on the offensive end as well.
Targeting Jokic in the pick-and-roll with Warriors’ guard Stephen Curry has produced positive results in the past and should be a big part of the game plan in this one. If Golden State’s role players can continue to complement their stars with additional scoring, expect this to be a much closer matchup than many would expect on Christmas Day.
It should be a fun game. Happy Holidays and enjoy the basketball Dub Nation. GO WARRIORS!!!
