Warriors vs. Bulls injury report: Moses Moody and Draymond Green still out

The Golden State Warriors are off to start a road trip, and the first stop takes them to the Windy City, where Steve Kerr will be honored as the Dubs take on the Chicago Bulls.

They need a win. They need a win very badly. Unfortunately, they’re fairly short-handed as they begin that pursuit. That means a fair number of players will need to step up.

Here’s the full injury report.

Warriors

Out — Moses Moody (left calf strain)

Moody has been one of the few bright spots on the Warriors recent rock-bottom skid, which saw them get blown out in consecutive home games by the Toronto Raptors and New Orleans Pelicans. The third-year guard dropped in an efficient 21 points in each of those games, but unfortunately suffered a mild calf injury on on Wednesday, and by Thursday had been ruled out for tonight’s game.

Out — Draymond Green (return to competition conditioning)

Green should be back fairly soon, as this will be his third game since his league suspension ended. If I had to guess, I’d say that he returns sometime during this road trip.

Out — Chris Paul (left hand fracture)

We’re still probably about a month or so away from CP3 returning, assuming he’s still on the team after the trade deadline. Safe to say the Warriors miss him.

Out — Gary Payton II (left hamstring strain)

Not quite sure when GPII will be back with the Dubs, but they sure miss his defense.

Bulls

Out — Lonzo Ball (left knee surgery)

I’ll admit it: I miss watching Lonzo play. Injuries have, sadly, started to define the exciting point guard’s career, as it’s been almost exactly two years since he last played in an NBA game.

Out — Torrey Craig (right plantar fascia sprain)

Craig is playing his first year with the Bulls, and was a key part of the rotation early in the season. Unfortunately, he hasn’t played in nearly a month.

Enjoy the game, Dub Nation!
