"I kind of take different intangibles from other people’s games," [Leonard] said. "The way Joakim Noah plays with passion and lot of energy and some tenacity out there, I think can model my game around that a little bit. I think (I’m) drawing comparisons to Tyson Chandler—his ability to be a backstop to the defense, block shots and be a good on-the-ball defender is something I strive to do; as well as finishing around the rim, he’s pretty solid. I think a good goal for me in the future is to be as skilled as Pau Gasol in the post—footwork, back to the basket, being able to pull up and shoot a little bit. I kind of just take different pieces of people’s games and the way they play and just try to model myself after that."
Meyers Leonard appears to have far more sensible role models than Andre "Durant" Drummond. Is this, combined with his excellent length (7'-1.25" in shoes), impressive athleticism (second strongest dude among all players at the combine), skills, youth, and solid sophomore year numbers enough to tempt the Ws at #7? I must say, I'd be tempted...The 76ers may be trying to trade up in the draft. They met with center Andre Drummond at the combine, even though he'll be long gone by #15.
Alex Kennedy tweet. Hm. If Drummond slips to #7, one wonders if an Iguodala deal could be struck.• Barnes, a media darling here with his polished personality, provided some combine comedy on Friday. When asked about the craziest question he'd faced during interviews with teams, he said, "Someone said, 'If the players and coaching staff would all go out at 2:30 [a.m.], would you go out with us?' I said, 'I might have to pass on that.' And they were like, 'But, we're in Miami?' I said, 'No, I'd have to pass.' " Who want's to make a bet that Barnes impressed the Warriors FO? It seems like more and more Mocks have him going 4th and 5th. It's really a shame, I would have settled for him at the 7th pick.
Harrison Barnes makes a joke at the draft combine last weekMore info on big- time workout at Golden State on Monday: Baylor forward Perry Jones will match up against Kentucky forward Terrence Jones, with North Carolina's Tyler Zeller, and Vanderbilt big man Festus Ezeli also expected to take part. - Sam Amick

-jay bilas He was talking how most big men are told "just go rebound" and how most bigs want to showcase their touch, outside shot and mentioned Drummond saying this. I had re-wind this 5 times. NO ON DRUMMONDThe Cavaliers are very high on [Harrison Barnes] and appear unlikely to let him slip past them at the No. 4 slot in the June 28 draft, according to sources. While this week's predraft combine in Chicago and subsequent team workouts could always change things, rival executives are planning for Barnes to be off the board by the time the fifth pick (Sacramento) rolls around.
From Cleveland eyeing UNC's Barnes at No. 4; more NBA draft notes by Sam Amick of SI. Barnes has been mentioned as a potential pick for the Warriors and Draft Express has the Warriors selecting him in their current mock draft.Hornets will entertain offers for 10th pick if someone also agrees to take Ariza or Okafor contracts.
Shaun Powell (powell2dapeople) on Twitter Beans for Okafor + 10th pick?!?!"Jazz Fan (SLC) I need an update on the Jazz. Trading into the draft? Chad Ford (1:44 PM) Knowing Kevin O'Connor ... you can be sure they are trying. They're intrigued by a number of players if they can get somewhere between 10-20. My guess is Devin Harris, Al Jefferson and Paul Milsap are the bait."

To put to rest the "Brandon Rush doesn't like the Bay" rumors..."There is a belief that a package of the number 18 pick in this year’s draft coupled with last year’s number two pick Derrick Williams could help the Timberwolves address some of the holes in their attack." Klay + 30th for Williams + 18th?? I think contracts are off by a mil or so, but Minnesota desperately needs a wing who can score
