A strange game happened last night.

Notable Player Performances:

Andrew Bogut played a hell of a game. We all know that he obviously presented an extra dimension to the offense by functioning as an offensive fulcrum in the post, and he also reestablished his superior defensive presence (especially with more skilled bigs, such as Brook Lopez). He also pulled down 18 rebounds on the night, in a game in which the opposition continually found second life on offense through offensive rebounding.

But he also had two big, big turnovers late in the game; and while the knee-jerk reaction to any misstep is annoyance (or more), I found myself able to rationalize the blunders.

Mistake one: down one, with the opportunity to take the lead, Bogut rebounded a missed Curry three (good!), turned his back to the baseline to look for a cutter (good!), but, in an apparent attempt to go fancy, had a behind-the-back pass sail on him and into the hands of a Brooklyn defender.

Now, upon further review, the fanciness was borne of necessity — much like an aesthetically pleasing Curry no-looker, the flash serves a purpose. In this case, it was to get the ball into the paint around Brook Lopez, who had bodied up to Bogut. You can argue he should've pulled it completely and recycled the ball to the top of the key, but that's only preferable to Bogut's choice of action if you think the Warriors could've gotten a better look than a Curry reverse layup.

Mistake two: after securing another HUGE defensive rebound, Bogut decided to play with my heart and trigger my PTSD from late January against the Bulls by turning the ball over in the backcourt. A Brooklyn wing snuck up behind him and intercepted his handoff to Curry.

Now, (a) we DO want Bogut to treat that board like it's a burning hunk of coal. The rebound was secured within the final two minutes of the game, meaning that it was open season to foul him. With this in mind, it's better he had the presence of mind to dump the ball before he finished counting how many white jerseys (Slate night, Warriors were the 'colors' at home) were in front of him--before he'd be done counting, he could've been fouled and sent to the line already.

Also, (b) each player has a limited view. Together, all five guys on the court can see everything. Either no other Warrior had the wherewithal to bark out "man on," or (more likely) the crowd was just too noisy to properly communicate on the court that someone was sneaking up on Bogut. Again, on the court when 103 things are happening simultaneously, mistakes can happen. And these were two of Bogut's mistakes, but they weren't because of laziness or absentmindedness; and both may have been in part propelled by Bogut's intelligence firing too fast.

In my mind, this game has firmly sealed shut the case of which five the Warriors should start. Obviously, the question never revolved around who was the better player — Bogut is superior to Ezeli in terms of overall impact (SSS rim protection data notwithstanding), and it's not particularly close.

The major crux of the Ezeli movement has been around the team's momentum going forward. That was never really an interesting argument to me, though, because it hides behind undebatable vagueness and abstraction. The precedent had been set, however, by coach Steve Kerr's benching of Andre Iguodala in favor of Harrison Barnes that the best players don't necessarily start for Kerr.

Watching the Warriors struggle to establish an offensive rhythm early on, however, reminded me that the most steady way of creating consistently good looks close to the rim is off of Bogut backdoor cuts. That's an aspect of the offense it just doesn't make sense to only bring in six minutes into the game. Two bench playmakers with Iguodala and Shaun Livingston to keep the pulse of the offense beating through the early second quarter is enough. There's no sense in diluting the on-court talent the Warriors have to this degree.

Warrior Wonder: Andre Iguodala

Speaking of Iguodala, what a night he had. While his latest clutch shot doesn't go down as a game winner because, well, it didn't win the game, it is just further evidence to his well-known medical affliction: ice-cold veins. He hit half of his 12 FGAs for 15 points, including the biggest shot of the game:

Iguodala is taking more shots per 36 than he ever has as a Warrior (by only 0.5 attempts, and SSS), yet his 3PAr is down from .427 last year to .400 this season. He added 6 assists to go along with 6 boards, and a +11 on/off for the night, second highest on the team. And because the universe is a mystical, impossibly complicated enigma, Andre did this exactly two calendar years prior to last night's game:

Shaun Livingston steps up against this old team

Livingston was also fantastic in sensing the urgency of the game. He was more aggressive with his shot than ever before, possibly because Walton (with the Jedi ghost of Kerr over his shoulder) benched Marreese Speights for a second consecutive game and live-wire vet Leandro Barbosa missed his second game because of a family situation, leaving a hole in the second unit for a shot-taker. Klay Thompson, who often joins Liv and Andre on the court before Curry re-enters in the second quarter, was also out (back), which compounded the need for someone to finish offensive possessions.

He took eight shots (four more than he averages this season), making three of them. He wasn't crazy efficient, but he and his runner partner Iguodala combined to bring a fresh sense of intensity to the game in the second unit that helped begin the arduous uphill climb against the Nets. This intangible spark was captured in his team-high +17 on the night. When he was in, the Warriors just outplayed the Nets.

It's worth noting that Livingston was (smartly) Walton's replacement for Klay Thompson as the 2 in the late-game lineup. Jarrett Jack did get the best of Liv on multiple possessions down the stretch, but it's hard to fault Liv for giving up the exact shot the Warriors wanted him to take: the dreaded midrange jumper. Defensively, you have done your job if you get your man to take that shot (of course, you have to work to contest it, too); this was just a night when Jack happened to hit them.

Draymond Green navigated a challenge

Draymond Green responded well to the challenge Thaddeus Young provided. It was apparent early on that Green either didn't watch enough tape on Young or simply wasn't familiar enough with Young's in-person tendencies to keep up with him. It's not like Young is on the Clippers, giving Dray four times a season to understand his game. In any case, it took Draymond 24 minutes to familiarize himself with Young: he scored 20 of his 26 points in the first half.

Offensively, Dray continues to operate as the point guard after teams trap Curry on the PnR, so it's no surprise he cracked double-digit assists against a team that elected to spring a double on Curry early and often. Along with his 12 assists, he came away with four turnovers; he and the Warriors (but mostly Dray) continue to show a frustrating tendency to throw lobs into a crowded paint. The closest analogy I can think of is Colin Kaepernick staring down a receiver then trying to force a pass into double coverage: it's stubborn and annoying and unsuccessful more often than not.

Don't get me wrong, there was at least one instance where Dray lobbing it to Ezeli was almost necessary to do before the defense collapsed back down. A lob is a useful tool that eliminates the time wasted on the middle man (catching, gathering). The Warriors should watch more tape on the Clippers, though: you need actual penetration to move the interior defenders before you can lob it up. By contrast, Dray will usually stop somewhere around midrange (or even from the three point line) and lob it up. I've rarely (if ever) seen an NBA defender who allows a lob over their head when they have good position on their man.

This was the good lob:

Steph Curry's game-high on an off night

Steph had an off-night, requiring 31 FGAs (16 3PAs) to get to his game-high 34 points. Like Livingston, not having your two bench shot-takers (Barbosa, Speights) or your secondary scoring option available left a gaping need for someone to shoot the ball. He played heavy minutes (38 minutes of regulation and all five of OT) again last night.

He repeatedly tried to help propel the team over a three-point deficit hump against the Nets through the third and early fourth quarter, until he finally connected to bring the Warriors to within one with five minutes left in the fourth. That also seemed to wake him up from his funk from behind the arc, having shot 1-5 from range in the first quarter and 1-6 in the third.

That was the blow that finally shattered the apparent psychological block preventing the Warriors from retaking the game, and the precursor that set up Andre to go into his late-game savant mode.

Other Notes:

The Warriors got lucky. They should be 10-1 right now, putting up shots in a gym somewhere fuming that they lost to the Nets.

If the Nets had followed the instructions of coach Lionel Hollins to foul while up three; if Brook Lopez hits a point-blank tip-in at the buzzer; if...

On the other hand, the Warriors outplayed the Nets for the majority of the game. The Nets shot 68% in the first quarter from the field, granted, but then the Warriors steadily forced the same shots and they magically stopped making them: 34.8%, 43.5%, and a whopping 25% in the next three quarters. Even that 43.5% goes down to 41% if Jack doesn't make an excellent (and aberrant) play on the ball in the final seconds of the quarter and get a final shot to go down.

The Warriors themselves had an off-night from the field, shooting sub-37% from the field in two quarters, and 44.3% on the game. A small part of it was Brooklyn's defense, but it was mainly a startling complacency to launch contested threes and long twos on a night when those shots just simply weren't falling. The offense often got constricted, as the pressure to retake the lead kept growing the longer Brooklyn held it.

As a result, things stagnated offensively. Four total assists in the third quarter (half of them courtesy of Bogut's playmaking). By contrast, with momentum, the Warriors had five assists on their five made baskets in the five minutes of overtime.

Yet Luke Walton boldly stated the only thing he was focused on was "defense, defense, defense" in the fourth quarter, with the team already holding the Nets to 39.1% shooting after the first quarter woes and the offense so obviously malfunctioning. Nevertheless it worked out in the end, and I guess that could've been bluster put on when he knew Rosalyn Gold-Onwude was listening in on the huddle. Oh well.

So, did the Warriors really get lucky? In a sense, yes. Brook Lopez will probably hit that gimme more often than not. The Nets not executing the correct play while up three is just the stripes of a bad basketball team.

In another sense, the Warriors were thoroughly unlucky that they were even in that position to lose on a buzzer beater to begin with. They caught the Nets on fire from midrange for a quarter and a half, resulting in an early deficit. They were also unlucky to be in a funk offensively, even missing some layups at times, making the deficit harder to surmount.

The 1996 Bulls lost one of their games to a new expansion team called the Toronto Raptors. It was a pretty shocking loss to a team that would go on to finish 51 total games behind the Bulls, at 21-61. When you're the best team in the league, every loss is an upset. Brook Lopez should have handed the Warriors their first upset of the season, but at the same time Brook Lopez should have definitely not been in the position to do so.

That first loss is looming out there, folks. Perhaps it's outside the Staples Center right now, smoking a cigarette with a security guard while it waits for the Warriors to arrive in four days. Maybe it's buying some kale chips to munch on, while it waits for the Warriors to play the Bulls in Oracle. Maybe it'll even pay us a visit on Tuesday, against the Raptors.

Until then,

Video breakdown of the game-tying three by Andre Iguodala in the Warriors-Nets game on Nov 14 2015.

We're going to break down the play that got the clutch game-tying three by Andre Iguodala with under ten seconds left in the game. First, note that the Warriors are taking the ball out on the sideline with limited time. Every team has a small number of practiced plays for these "sideline out of bounds" (SLOB) situations.

The Play, Version 1 (Pass to Flare)

The Warriors have this lovely simple play where Shooter A throws the ball in-bounds to a big passer, such as Draymond Green. Then Shooter B comes over and sets a screen for Shooter A who runs to the top of the key and shoots. There may be other movement, but this is the heart of the play.

Here are two examples. In the first, Stephen Curry inbounds to Draymond Green, and then flares out using a screen from Klay Thompson. In the second, Curry inbounds to Bogut and then gets a flare screen from Klay Thompson (again).

Yes, he misses both the shots, but the three is an open look, so the play has done its job.

The Play, Version 2 (Pass to Screener)

Now, there is a second option in this play. The screen is set by a shooter, so they might end up open in the play. So if the shooter flaring out is covered, or if you just want to get the screening shooter a shot, then the big passer can pass to the screener.

This is what happens in this very memorable sequence (the front end of probably the greatest back-to-back three-pointers in Warriors history). Play inbounds to Draymond. He will run in bounds and get a screen from Curry. The Pelicans switch so Klay is covered on his flare, but Draymond passes to the screener Curry who puts some moves on and hits a clutch shot.

The Play, Iguodala Style

Well, today the Warriors didn't have Klay Thompson. So they ran the play with Curry inbounding to Draymond Green, Curry running inbounds and flaring out past a screen from Andre Iguodala. Let's see how well you understood the preceding Version 1 and Version 2. Which version do they run against the Nets?

In version 1 of the play, Draymond would pass to the inbounder Curry. But instead they do version 2 and pass to the screener Iguodala.

Watch the play again and note how Iguodala's defender hesitates for a split second as Curry runs by. He appears to pause for a moment to prevent the pass from getting to Curry. But this leaves Andre open. He recovers to Andre, but is now a half-step behind and scrambling. Iguodala does his best Curry imitation with an escape dribble, side-step ("side-steph") and hits a three in his man's face. Not an easy shot, but I believe he is now 3 for 3 on end of game clutch shots.

Of the shot, Iguodala said, "Obviously we're looking for a guy who's been doing it all for us this year and obviously the defense is keying in on him as well." It was a situation where Draymond Green had the option to pass toward Curry after Iguodala set the screen. "Steph's the first option, and they might help a little bit because I'm setting the screen so, I just got open and created some space and got a good shot up." .... Some teams might force-feed it to their superstar in this situation, but the Warriors believe in letting everyone benefit from superstardom's gravity.

- from Ethan Sherwood Strauss's report

What's So Good About This Play?

It's simple and gives you two options for getting a 3.

When shooters screen, it is very hard to cover.

The player who inbounds is very dangerous and is often lost in the shuffle of movement.

t's built on plays already practiced and used in the offense. Sharp readers will notice that the in-bounds play is very similar to the "post-cross" or "guard squeeze" action we analyzed in One Play: Warriors + Triangle Offense = Barnes 3. Yes, it's an in-bounds version of that play.

Up 3, To Foul or Not To Foul?

Fitz/Barnett say foul Papa/St. Jean say don't foul I think they should settle it on the court

I guess this is still a controversy?? When you are up 3 points and defending with ten seconds or fewer, you have the option of fouling. If you foul while not in the act of shooting, then the player gets two foul shots so they can't tie the game.

Reasons To Foul

Player can't tie the game (most likely).

Even if the player is in the act of shooting, they are likely to miss one. At worst it will be tied and you have a desperate shot to win or go into overtime.

If the player manages to hit the three and have a four point play, well, that's very very rare.

This statistically works better than not fouling.

If you don't foul and the other team hits a 3, they will be super jazzed and crush you in overtime. Then you will be roasted alive in the press and fired. (See: Pelicans Game 3, the Curry 3 which directly followed the Version 2 play above.)

Reasons Not To Foul

Trust your defense.

That four-point play would be terrible.

If they hit the free throws, that puts pressure on you to hit your own free throws to keep it a 3 point game.

They could hit the first free throw and get the rebound on the second for a putback or Odin Forbid, a winning 3.

This strategy is an abomination and is exploiting a loophole in the foul shot rule.

In this very specific case, we're talking about Andre Iguodala, the most erratic free throw shooter on the team, so I believe you definitely have to foul him. The right time was when he caught the pass or did his escape dribble.

Bonus Pop Quiz

Earlier in the game, the Warriors ran this gem of a play to get an easy two points. Name it. (Hint: it has appeared previously in the Explain One Play series.)

Answer

Let's see, we have Curry and Iguodala crossing under the basket, Curry veering up as if to use a screen from Draymond Green, and instead setting a back screen for Draymond Green. Iguodala gets the pass and rifles it to Draymond who rip cuts down the lane for a layup.

Yes, it is Warriors Rip, which we have covered in the last Explain One Play, but also the previous one! The Warriors have run it in three straight games and it's worked each time. I'm glad other teams coaching staffs don't read this series...

The Warriors endured their biggest deficit of the season in the first half but came back to win in overtime. There wasn't a 50-point margin of victory, but the home team remained undefeated.

The struggling Brooklyn Nets gave the Golden State Warriors their toughest test of the year but simply ran out of gas in overtime as the reigning champions scrapped their way to a 107-99 win to remain undefeated.

While Stephen Curry led the team in scoring with 34 points, 2015 NBA Finals MVP Andre Iguodala played hero tonight with a game-tying 3-pointer near the end of regulation. After Nets center Brook Lopez blew a point blank putback at the end of regulation, a demoralized visiting team still searching for a win seemed to have little left in the tank to compete in the extra period.

Even without Klay Thompson -- who was out due to a back injury -- the Warriors ultimately held on to improve to an incredible 11-0 record for the first time in franchise history. The win came after the Warriors were down double digits in the first half and managed to claw their way back into the game in the second to put themselves in position to win in overtime.

According to Basketball-Reference, the Warriors are now just the 11th team in NBA history to begin a season by winning their first 11 games and the first since the 2002-2003 Dallas Mavericks began their season 14-0. As represented by that Mavericks team — they lost in the Western Conference Finals to the San Antonio Spurs — this is not exactly a piece of history that's indicative of eventually winning a title, but it's an impressive feat nonetheless in that the Warriors are clearly leaps and bounds beyond the competition right now.

The Warriors now try to navigate a rough stretch that includes the Toronto Raptors, the L.A. Clippers at Staples Center, and the Chicago Bulls to remain undefeated — honestly, if they make it through that stretch, it's quite conceivable that they could break the record for most wins in a season with only the Denver Nuggets and L.A. Lakers standing in their way in their 15th and 16th games.

As a Warriors fan who has endured years of losing, you have to feel for a struggling Nets team that squandered a golden opportunity tonight after mounting a huge lead early and re-gaining a smaller advantage later -- it might be a while before the Nets even reach 16 wins overall from the looks of things.

Jarrett Jack, who scored a team-high 28 points, and his ragtag bunch of Nets came to Northern California one win above winless and leave the way they came after dropping games to the Warriors and Sacramento Kings on consecutive nights. Like everyone else, they couldn't stop Stephen Curry when it counted even though he wasn't necessarily in peak form from beyond the arc. But as epitomized by Iguodala's clutch shot, the Warriors just had too many weapons to beat in 48 minutes and seemingly impossible to hang with for the extended 53 minute game time.

The Warriors face the Nets tonight at 7:30 p.m. PST without the help of both Leandro Barbosa and Klay Thompson.

For reasons that I don't wholly understand, I watched the entirety of last night's game between the Brooklyn Nets and Sacramento Kings.

Actually, my bad, no I didn't — I just watched the third and fourth quarter that seemed to drag on forever, DeMarcus Cousins' 40-point performance notwithstanding.

Anyway, my point: I don't see how Brooklyn can possibly compete with the Golden State Warriors for 48 minutes. Just check out this scouting report of the team from a commenter at SB Nation's Nets site Nets Daily:

Teams know the scouting report on the Nets - stop Lopez and you'll be fine

So they double him and force him into a bad game, and don’t have to worry about the rest.

Joe 33% (that’s overall, he’s 21% from 3-range)
Jack 38%
Bargs 40%
Ellington 29%

These are the "offensive" (yes, very offensive to me!) players. We are supposed to live with their bad defense because at least they can shoot. And Hollins keep riding them. Part of their bad shooting is surely on them, and in some cases age is playing a role. But they are all shooting well below career averages, and below last year even. FGA%, career, last year

I've generally refused to watch Brooklyn more than twice a year since the Deron Williams and ISOJoe era began, but this looks even uglier than that.

So perhaps we should consider this game an opportunity to appreciate the luxury of having both Andrew Bogut and Festus Ezeli in our post rotation surrounded by Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Harrison Barnes. And Curry, of course, is aiming to pass his dad on the all-time 3-pointers list.

Dell Curry to son @StephenCurry30 of #Warriors: 'Shoot all the 2-pointers u want.'
Predicting a score is difficult because you figure the fourth quarter will be garbage time, but let's hope it's an opportunity for the reserves to shine a bit. Unfortunately, two players who will not be available are Leandro Barbosa and Klay Thompson. Barbosa remains out due to a family matter, according to Monte Poole of CSN. Thompson is apparently out due to back stiffness. Poole also reports that the Warriors will honor the victims of the attacks in Paris with a moment of silence before the game.

The Golden State Warriors look to extend their best start to a season in franchise history Saturday night against Brooklyn.

The 27th day of April in 2012 dramatically altered the trajectory of the Golden State Warriors franchise. It's easy to forget a terrible season, but if that were the case then Warriors' fans would be forced to forget much of their lives. It is my personal opinion that the 2011-2012 season is the third most important key to Golden State building a championship caliber roster, right after the selection of Steph Curry in 2009 and new ownership taking over in 2010.

Basically the Warriors owned a top seven protected pick that season, meaning if they weren't one of the seven worst teams in the league then Utah would own the rights to Golden State's first round draft pick. The Warriors tanked and finished in a tie as the seventh worst team in the league with the Toronto Raptors. Even after ending the season 5-22, the Warriors only had a 50 percent chance of keeping their pick. On April 27th, 2012 the Warriors won a coin toss for draft positioning with the Raptors. Golden State kept their pick and drafted Harrison Barnes 7th overall, then Festus Ezeli in the late first round and Draymond Green in the second round. Two years later the Warriors defeated LeBron James on his home court to win the NBA Finals.

This story should give Brooklyn Nets fans hope as they are smack dab in the middle of tanking away the 2015-2016 season. But as part of the ugly Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce trade with Boston, the Celtics actually own the unprotected rights to Brooklyn's first round draft pick this season. So no matter how bad the Nets are this year the end of the tunnel is still dark because the Celtics get their pick. It's the cruel world of sports but it is crazy to see how one bad season can turn a franchise around, or keep them in the basement for years to come.

Dear Mikhail Prokhorov, it sucks to suck, huh?

The Nets are in the Bay Area to take on the piping hot defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m. PST and the game will be broadcasted live on CSN Bay Area.

Last Time Out

The Nets dropped a tough game in Sacramento last night to the Kings by a score of 111-109. Brookyln's lone win this season came on the road against the Houston Rockets on Wednesday. Tonight's game will be the last game of an odd four game cross country road trip for the Nets. The Warriors on the other hand defeated the Minnesota Timberpups on Thursday 129-116 behind Steph Curry's 46 points to remain as the NBA's lone undefeated team. The tenth straight win to start the season is now the best start in Golden State's franchise history. Who wants to bet that record won't last long?

Golden State (-9900) enters Saturday's contest as 17 point favorites over Brooklyn (+2000). The over/under line is set at 208.5 total points according to BetOnline. Lets check out some betting trends between both teams compiled by OddsShark.com:

Brooklyn is bad. Like really bad. The Warriors are good. Like really f--king good. I think that is all the intel needed to make my picks. The only thing I am worried about is if the bench will blow a huge fourth quarter lead thus allowing the Nets to cover.

The Warriors enter this game returning home after a tough early season back-to-back road trip that took them through a grind out Memphis win and a tough Wolves team that looks legit. They keep answering the call whenever the media or basketball fans wonder "can they keep this up"? Sure, thats easy to do when your best player and reigning MVP Steph Curry continues to dominate like he is. But lets face it: these Warriors are and will continue to be a sum of all their fantastic parts. Not enough credit is given to Draymond Green's effort and performance in Minnesota that saw him come two rebounds away from a triple-double. Klay Thompson also continued to contribute to the fold, increasing his scoring numbers again to help round out the effort. It's the small things that keep this team going, and is why even when they have a bad night (Memphis) or the other team can't miss (Wolves) that they still come away winning by comfortable margins.

They return home to familiar ground, getting a day off Friday to rest and recharge before welcoming the Nets to Oracle on Saturday night. They will not only continue their record-setting season start (currently 10-0 and not looking to stop any time soon) as well as their home regular season winning streak that spans into last season.

The Nets are still trying to get their feet under them this season after some roster turnover in the offseason. Sure, Deron Williams was an aging point guard whose production was dwindling, however they received basically nothing in return for him going to Dallas, and now have been forced to shift players in and out of the lineup to fix it. Jarrett Jack (friend of the Bay) becomes the primary ball handler, and though he is a Warriors killer, he doesn't necessarily have the same success against other teams in the league. They do feature past All Stars in Brook Lopez and Joe Johnson and both have put in good showings so far this season.

Their issue? Absolutely no bench.

One of their best scorers Bojan Bogdanovic comes off the bench, however he ends up playing more minutes a game than starter and rookie first-round pick Rondae Hollis-Jefferson. Past Bojan, it's a long list of mediocrity highlighted by Andrea Bargnani and his fifteen exciting minutes per game. What a roster put together by the franchise over in Brooklyn, which continues to be just relevant enough to be average while never being bad enough to rebuild.

It would seem this might be the year they throw in the towel, and for that enjoy this Nets roster before they become big trade targets (Thad Young) and buyout candidates (Joe Johnson) toward the end of the season. If only Young hadn't signed a big deal in the offseason — he would quickly fall on the "guys I wish were scoring for the Warriors' second unit" list in my mind.

The Nets feature one of the league's lowest-scoring offenses, one of the league's worst defenses, and a grinding painful pace that makes them almost impossible to watch unless they are playing a good team like the Warriors. Sorry Brooklyn, you deserve better.

Game Predictions

If the team records didn't dictate enough, you could look to the Warriors' winning streak, and the fact that the Nets are simply not a good team. Their pieces don't jell well, and they sure don't play enough defense to keep up with the fast-paced Warriors. The biggest points in this game will be "Stay Healthy" and "Don't Get Bored".

Stay Healthy. let's work to get those starters out in the second half. A great game would be putting this one away at home with big runs in the first and third quarters, and having the Nets send out the back ups early into the second half. They will be coming off a road back-to-back from Sacramento on Friday, and that alone should leave them one step behind. They aren't particularly physical, so space the ball and run them off the court.

Don't Get Bored. The Warriors have found themselves giving up big runs in the 2nd and 3rd quarters of games this year. The streak is there, but runs from the benches against Detroit, Denver and Minnesota forced the starters to play more minutes in the fourth than planned. Luke Walton loves the play-it-through approach, which I agree with. Well, if that is the case, play through it! The offense on the second unit cannot count on Livingston one-on-one fadeaways or Mo Speights jumpers. Keep running the offense and you will find layups out there. If you keep the intensity up without the lapses, this team will see more blowouts and more time for the mop up crews

My prediction: This one won't be close. It won't be a 50-point blowout, but it will be a comfy win. Warriors win 120-94 and it's over by the third-quarter buzzer.
