With the fourth pick in the third round of the 2013 NBA D-League Draft, the Santa Cruz Warriors selected Shane Gibson out of Sacred Heart.
In a 2012 article by Yahoo's Jeff Eisenberg, Gibson said that he thought his numbers warranted a look by the NBA.
"I think I'd probably have gotten more recognition last year if we had won some more games," Gibson said. "I've watched other guys and I've seen the attention they're getting, and I'm just like, 'Are they not seeing the numbers I'm putting up over here?' Hopefully with more team success, some of that comes this year."
Although those impressive junior year numbers took a bit of a dip in his senior year, Gibson was still an extremely efficient scorer and shot 41.6% from the 3-point line in his senior season (about his career average). The likely problem in the eyes of NBA scouts: Gibson is listed as just 6-foot-2.
Gibson did ultimately make the Sacramento Kings summer league roster after working out for them prior to the 2013 NBA Draft.
