In a move that has been rumored to be in the works for a while now, the Santa Cruz Warriors have made a trade centered around former Golden State Warriors draft pick Jeremy Tyler being sent to the Erie Bayhawks.
In exchange for sending Tyler, first round pick Scott Suggs, and third round pick Shane Gibson to the Bayhawks, Santa Cruz has received a package that includes the rights to guard John Allen and post Dwayne Jones from the Texas Legends, guard William Buford from the Iowa Energy, forward Paul Crosby from the Maine Red Claws and forward Ryan Evans from the BayHawks.
Yet as reported by Keith Schlosser of Ridiculous Upside, the Bayhawks made the deal with their NBA affiliate - the New York Knicks - in mind: after cutting him in training camp, the Knicks wanted to keep him close and needed to make the deal for his D-League rights with Santa Cruz to keep him with their organization.
